The Leap Motion Controller ships out on May 13th. If you don't already know, the Leap Motion is the worlds most accurate 3D motion controller. It can be used as a stylus just by holding a pencil in the air, or a gaming controller by holding out your hands. The applications are endless, and luckily they are also releasing a development kit for people to integrate it with anything they wish. The Leap is so precise, that it can detect movement within 1/100th of a millimeter and supports 10 finger tracking.

An independent film maker and director James Spiering has started making League Of Champions, a League Of Legends fan movie. The crew consisting of his partners Roberto Bech, Brian "LB" Zastoupil, and James himself launched their project on Indie GoGo just a few days ago for all summoners to see. I know this crew personally, and they are hard working, and talented. They will be sure to respond to suggestions and summoner contributions, which makes this project unique with whomever gets involved; adding their own special touch to it.
Bioware and Electronic Arts have announced their MMORPG, SW: The Old Republic, will get a character level increase for free play. Currently the game can be played free up to level 15, but this announcement confirms in either November or December the game will be free to play up to level 50. General manager of Bioware Austin made the following statements:
First of all, Gamer District would like to thank the development team at Mechanist Games for the opportunity to not only play City of Steam during its Alpha stages, but also for taking the time to allow us the opportunity for an interview to get inside the games’ in-depth details.
[8:23:18 PM] Gamer District: Who is Mechanist Games, how big is the team, and other than David Lindsay’s The New Epoch, what is the development teams’ experience (i.e. what games have the members of Mechanist Games helped with in the past, if any)?
So we here at Gamer District had the opportunity to get our hands on Machinist Games' anticipated free to play MMORPG, City of Steam, this past weekend and would like to share with gamers what we feel about the game so far. Bear in mind City of Steam is very early in its development stages, so we're not going to point out minor bugs and the like, since they are expected. Being that City of Steam is such a huge game, the previewing of the game will take place in sections. This week I'll be discussing presentation, graphics, the questing system and other details.
Hideo Kojima, master mind of the critically acclaimed Metal Gear series, will soon announce a project that's been under wraps for the past four years. Kojima mentioned his plans of showwing off his new gaming engine, named Fox Engine, on August 30th, in Japan. There was no mention about whether or not the engine would be presented using a game or if they would show it off using rendered animations made just for that purpose, but it may be likely Project Ogre, the first game announced to utilize the engine, could be used to present the engine. Kojima stated the following:
Left 4 Dead 2's Downloadable Content, Cold Stream, was announced last month to be realeased today; however, not only was it not released, but it was said on their Official Twitter page that they don't even have an estimated date of when it will be released and mentioned only that it would be soon. They did however say they were working closely with Microsoft and confirmed the price for Xbox Live gamers at 560 pts.
